5 Reasons for booking UK Christmas Breaks in 2024

The radio might not be blaring out carols just yet, but right now is a very good time to book a UK Christmas break before best places are snapped up!

Here are a few good reasons to book a UK Christmas holiday in 2024…

  1. Share the Hosting

The main reason for booking a cottage at Xmas is so that you don’t have all the work of hosting Christmas at home. It’s stressful when relatives breeze in with a box of crackers, expecting to be wined dined and entertained. Swap your house for a luxury home by the sea, and it’s easier to delegate festive drinks and dishes that everyone can bring.

  1. Bypass some of the prep

Leaving the Christmas decorating to us and arrive to find a magical festive ambience without losing a day of your time zhuzhing up the decs you bring out year after year. Instead, all you need to do is wrap the presents, enjoy a beach walk and delight in the realization that this Christmas will actually feel like a holiday. Plus, the beds are already made!

  1. Bracing Beach Walks

All that eating, drinking and sitting around watching telly and playing charades can make you feel a bit cooped up. Exploring the gorgeous Yorkshire coast is enough to lure the most apprehensive walkers outdoors for some uplifting fresh sea air, reviving everyone’s festive spirit.

  1. The Yorkshire Coast Festivities

Twinkling lights around the harbour, carols beside the sea, beach saunas and Boxing Day North Sea dips… there are so many Christmassy outings to enjoy while you’re at the seaside.

  1. Restaurants, cafes and pubs

At Seafern Cottage we have pubs, restaurants and cafes within walking distance, so you can forget the hassle of booking taxis or deciding who needs to drive, because it’s simply not necessary.

We’re already booked for Christmas 2024, but we can recommend:

  • 3 night from 7th December for the Robin Hoods Bay Victorian Christmas celebrations
  • 7 nights from 27th December for New Year’s Eve when there will be twinkling lights around the harbour, fireworks on the dock, beach saunas and New Year’s Day breakfast on the beach.
