If you love cycling and enjoy trips to places like 'Centre Parcs', but wish they had a location near the sea then Seafern Cottage is for you!

We are a cycling friendly accommodation near Robin Hood's Bay, situated around midway along a 21 mile re-purposed railway line called the Cinder Track. This traffic free route runs from Scarborough to Whitby, through the North York Moors National Park and there are vast sections where you will get uninterrupted views of the stunning North Yorkshire coast. Booking a family cycling trip can involve meticulous planning to ensure that there is somewhere safe to store your bikes and if you are cycling with kids it's also important to be able to get the the cycle route easily without having to negotiate busy roads. We launched Seafern Cottage because it's the sort of accommodation that we would have been sooooo pleased to have found when our children were young. Traffic free cycling on your doorstep, secure storage for your bikes, tools for any maintenance required and a hose pipe for washing them down when you return muddy, exhausted and exhilarated!

If you don't own a bike, you can hire them from Bayhire who will deliver them to Seafern Cottage. They have ebikes too incase you're worried about keeping up with the kids. Take to the roads with our expert led guided bike ride experiences around the captivating North York Moors and Coastal Villages! These tailor made tours are suitable for any ability and showcase some of the very best scenery in Yorkshire, choose from a half day or a full day experience. Our amateur half day ride even includes a bike maintenance session. Bring your own bike or hire an E-bike from our hire partners at Bayhire.

Seafern Cottage is accredited as a North York Moors cycling friendly place to stay. We provide secure bike storage, cleaning and repair facilities and route maps, so that you can book your stay with confidence. Our beds can be made up to accommodate 6 single guests.
