Family Activity Holidays

We've put 15 years experience of family activity holidays at the Yorkshire Coast into creating this blog, intended to ensure you have the best adventure break the UK has to offer.  We’re a great alternative to centreparcs with traffic free cycling and fabulous beaches to explore.  There’s an adventure for little kids, Teenage kids and big (adult sized) kids at Sea Fern holiday cottage.  We are close to Go Ape, Bungee UK, Whitby Surf School, Alpamare UK and The Yorkshire Waterpark.  Sea Fern Cottage is within a mile of Robin Hoods Bay on The Cleveland Way and The Cinder Track and is perfectly situated for walking and cycling holidays.

When thinking about eating out at The Yorkshire coast one instantly thinks fish & chips, but there are also a great number of places where you can enjoy a traditional Sunday lunch in Robin Hood’s Bay and the surrounding villages. From traditional pubs to restaurants and these establishments all serve hearty, home-cooked food. These are our top 5 places to get this British favourite.

The Whitby Christmas Festival and Market takes place on 15th - 17th November 2024 and will be full of festive cheer, with craft stalls, music, and childrens entertianment it's the ideal opportunity to get in to the Christmas spirit and start your Christmas shopping!

When the clocks go back, in October and the nights become dark earlier it is one of the best times to take a stargazing holiday in the UK.  Around this time the Milky Way is overhead in the evening, resembling a shimmering river of stars. Stargazing season runs from September to May. These can be pretty cold months for sitting around outside waiting 15-20 minutes for your eyes to acclimatise to the dark. However, if you are keen to experience stargazing we can recommend joining one of the events organized as part of the Dark Skies Festival.
