Do you like the idea of a UK Christmas Break?

Christmas and New Year weeks are popular and are usually already booked before we reach November at Seafern Cottage.

However, if you'd like to experience a festive mini break and you've missed out on your favourite property you can still enjoy some fabulous celebrations at Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby with festive markets, victorian traditions and carol singing. There are two amazing events that attract celebrities like Matt Baker and Dan Walker and returning visitors every year.  These are:

• The Whitby Artisan Christmas Festival and Market, which takes place on 15th - 17th November 2024 and is always full of festive cheer, with craft stalls, music, fireworks and children's entertianment It's the ideal opportunity to get in to the Christmas spirit and start your Christmas shopping! There's so much to do that we wrote a blog about it here.

• Robin Hood's Bay Victorian Weekend which starts with a Christingle service on Friday 6th December at 2pm in St Stephen's Church. The villagers are then head down the village with lanterns singing 'I Saw Three Ships'. Festivities continue on Saturday and Sunday and include; carols round the tree, the RNLI duck race and mulled wine and hot dogs. Be sure to get there for the lantern parade through the village on Friday, because it's the highlight of the weekend. This incredibly festive atmosphere has visitors returning year after year to be part of 'a weekend of festive fun, amazing atmosphere and a pre-xmas relaxation.'
